Watersprite: The Cambridge International Student Film Festival

At the beginning of March the world’s most glamorous student film festival will return to Cambridge. Watersprite is entirely run by Cambridge undergraduates, with the support of BAFTA and our patron, Hilary Bevan Jones (first chairwoman of BAFTA). The festival is the culmination of our international short film competition, which this year received submissions from over 40 countries across 6 continents.

Over the weekend of the 1st- 3rd March we’ll showcase the best in student filmmaking talent as well as host amazing events including talks, workshops and industry masterclasses. All events are completely FREE. Speakers include Neil Gaiman (Coraline, Stardust), Olivia Colman (Tyrannosaur, Peep Show), Academy Award Nominee John Logan (Gladiator, Skyfall), Academy Award Winner Jenny Shircore (My Week with Marilyn, Notting Hill), Roger Graef, the cast and crew of BBC’s Restless and many more!

You can also check out the creativity of the world’s next generation of filmmakers at our screenings, which will take place throughout the weekend. The trailer for our incredible Film of the Year nominees can be found on our website.
