Hat Club – International Humanitarian Law

Dear Hughesians!

The first Hat Club talk of the year begins next week on 17th October with Professor Dan Saxon speaking about International Humanitarian Law and the changing technology of war. Professor Saxon is an international human rights lawyer who has worked on the Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria, and also as a prosecutor at the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, part of the team prosecuting Slobodan Milosevic.

The talk will begin at 7:45 pm in the Pavilion room with wine available from 7:30. This is the first of a three part series with the following lectures in the Lent and Easter terms so this is not one to be missed.

This is a great opportunity to learn about something completely new, and at the same time get involved in academic life at the College. The talk (and the wine) are free and there is no need to book, just mark this down in your diary and come along after dinner next Wednesday.

Please see the talk poster for more information.

We hope to see you there.
