Volunteer to teach in Nepal with Cambridge Volunteers in Nepal

How would you like to spend your summer living, teaching, traveling and just generally experiencing Nepal?

Every year Cambridge Volunteers in Nepal sends 16 volunteers, split between two schools and time slots to two schools, one in Kathmandu the other in rural countryside, run by the charitable, incredibly progressive foundation Hindu Vidya Peeth.

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, though the inhabitants will often tell you it has boundless wealth in happiness and natural beauty and you’ll soon come to agree with them, and help is desperately needed to inject some sense and energy into their education system.

Teaching is in English and extremely flexible, not just English lessons but Maths, Science, History, Geography and anything else you can think of that would entertain and interest the kids as well.

Living with the kids, teaching and playing with them every day, travelling through the beautiful, sometimes mystifying, always fascinating country or just chatting with some of the friendliest people on earth is an incredible experience and we welcome any and everyone to apply.

If you’d like to learn more we’ll be running two short presentations of our own experiences there on Wednesday the 24th at 8pm and Saturday the 27th (of October) both in Trinity Hall’s Crescent Room. Please come along and ask us any questions, have a look at the schools, the homes and most importantly the kids. Also check out our website https://sites.google.com/site/cambridgevolunteersinnepal/

We’ll announce dates for applications and interviews soon, until then Namaste!
