WiSETI – Cake and Careers’ seminar

MONDAY 10 NOVEMBER
1.30PM – 3.30PM
THE SMALL LECTURE THEATRE, CAVENDISH LABORATORY, WEST CAMBRIDGE SITE, JJ THOMPSON AVENUE, CAMBRIDGE

WiSETI (Women in Science, Engineering and Technology Initiative) is hosting a Cake & Careers event in December specifically aimed at PhD students and Postdocs in the Physical Sciences, based in West Cambridge (Physics, Maths, Manufacturing, Computer Science and Engineering). There will be a number of speakers drawn from different sectors including academia and industry.

The aim of the sessions is to give the audience information about available careers options and information about the work involved in these fields, including details about specific jobs, what is appealing about them and why the speakers chose their particular role. It’s a great opportunity for women to get together to network with researchers from different labs and subjects, with the added bonus of free cake.

The talks will commence at 1.30pm and will finish with a short Q&A session and a chance to network over cake and refreshments.

While this event is free, there are limited places, so register online to reserve your place (ideally using your University email address). To register, click on the link: : http://cakeandcareersevent.eventbrite.co.uk
