Recognising that his master, Hero, has fallen madly in love with a courtesan, Philia, from a nearby brothel, he promises to arrange the match in return for his freedom – however, getting Philia out of the hands of her soon-to-be husband, General Miles Gloriosus, proves a much more difficult task than he imagined. Winner of several Tony awards, including Best Musical and Best Book, this musical comedy has it all.
