This Wednesday at 9pm will see a pub quiz in the bar with a twist, as we look for five Hughesians to represent the college on University Challenge, the iconic BBC general knowledge show which sees British Universities and Oxbridge colleges fight it out for the title of having the most comprehensive general knowledge in the land.
So if you fancy representing Hughes or just want some distraction, do come down on Wednesday – the usual prizes will still be doled out at the end and you will still be competing in teams. The only difference will be that the organiser will ask some of those in attendance if they want to represent Hughes on the programme (filming is in February and April) based on results.
Whether you be a scientist or humanities student, the programme covers a great range of knowledge so all backgrounds are needed.
