Team Up: Change lives at Cambridge this year

Team Up is looking for Cambridge’s brightest students to join a national movement to tackle educational disadvantage, and gain a nationally-recognised leadership development qualification alongside their degree.

As a Rising Leader, you’ll apply your skills in a challenging school-based tuition placement, where you will tutor a small group of local secondary school pupils in either GCSE English, giving an hour and a half of your time each week towards improving their grades and inspiring their minds! Sessions will take place at the following location:

Location: Comberton Village College
Subjects: GCSE English

Tuition days: You must be available on Tuesday afternoons, tuition sessions will be weekly between 3:05pm – 4:05pm

You will complete an accredited qualification, which is run in collaboration with top graduate employers, such as PwC, Norton Rose Fulbright Law, and Barclays, and consists of rigorous training in five professional competencies, including leadership, project management and communication.

As well as empowering pupils to academic excellence, we are working to find and develop students who are capable of taking on challenging graduate roles. You will have the opportunity to receive professional mentoring, networking opportunities, fast-tracking to competitive internship/graduate scheme interviews and master classes. Of course, the experience you gain with Team Up can also serve as the ideal springboard to a teaching career.

If you think you have what it takes to become a Rising Leader, and want to receive the training and the tools to inspire a new generation of leaders, then find out more at http://teamup.org.uk/students and then apply online at http://teamup.org.uk/find-team/university-cambridge/rising-leader-application-form.
