‘THE SORCERER’ AT THE MINACK 2015
Cambridge University Gilbert & Sullivan Society are excited to announce that we will perform ‘The Sorcerer’ at the Minack from 14th-19th September 2015.

MORE ABOUT ‘THE SORCERER’
Starry-eyed young lovers Alexis and Aline wish everyone in their village could be as happily besotted as they are. In a moment of inspiration, they decide to hire John Wellington Wells, a distinguished representative of a highly respectable London firm of sorcerers, to brew a love-potion for their fellow citizens. It remains only to slip the potion into the tea at the wedding feast, and well, it’s G&S, you know the rest. Strange infatuations, social satire, and yes, hilarity all ensue. An uproariously funny but subtly dark operetta, The Sorcerer was Gilbert & Sullivan’s first great success. Join CUG&S as we conjure comedy and drama.

‘THE GRAND DUKE’ AT THE GILBERT AND SULLIVAN INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2015
Cambridge University Gilbert and Sullivan Society are also pleased to announce that we will be performing ‘The Grand Duke’ at the Gilbert and Sullivan International Festival in Harrogate on 11th August 2015.

MORE ABOUT ‘THE GRAND DUKE’
The curtain rises on the market square of Speisesaal where Ernest Dummkopf’s acting troupe is rehearsing for a production of the Greek tragedy Troilus and Cressida. Beneath the theatrical veneer, a conspiracy is afoot among the thespians to overthrow Rudolph, the Grand Duke. However, this in inadvertently betrayed… With conspiracy, intrigue and a statutory duel ‘The Grand Duke’ is sure to be an exciting show.
