CAMMIGRES FORUM HOSTS:
‘LEAVE TO REMAIN’ FILM SCREENING & PANEL DISCUSSION WITH DIRECTOR
Please join us for the Cambridge screening of the award-winning feature
film ‘Leave to remain’ (2013), followed by a panel discussion about
young refugees and asylum seekers in Britain.
‘Leave to Remain’ (2013) is set in London and explores the journey
of an unaccompanied Afghan teenager, who is in the process of having his
refugee status decided in Britain. The low-budget film is based on
real-life stories and features a cast of non-professional young actors,
all from migrant backgrounds.
For the post-screening discussion, we will be joined by an exciting
panel. Confirmed panellists include:
Professor Madeleine Arnot (Faculty of Education/ Co-Founder Cambridge
Migration Research Network)
Rita Chadha (Chief Executive, Refugee and Migrant Council of Essex and
London)
Ebrahim Esmail (young actor, refugee, British Red Cross and Refugee
Council volunteer)
Bruce Goodison (BAFTA award winning Director).
