Student drivers needed for King’s ‘Access Bus’ trip in March

Every year King’s send a group of current students to the North East to work with Year 10 state school students. Through a series of games and activities they aim to raise aspirations towards and widen participation in higher education.

Last year, we visited schools in and around Middlesborough, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool and Redcar, and this year we’re planning to do the same.

The absolutely crucial element of this trip is recruiting students to drive the Access Bus (this year, two cars!). We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to be one of the drivers on this trip and take part in the schools sessions alongside our team of undergraduates.

To summarise, we are looking to recruit volunteers who:

· Are 21 or over and hold a full valid UK or EU driving licence (held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 points on it)
· Would like to work alongside our undergrad students to deliver sessions on university life and raising aspirations to Year 10 students.
· Are free between Sunday 20th and Thursday 24th March (inclusive) to travel to the North East – food and accommodation will be provided.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in volunteering, please contact to slo@kings.cam.ac.uk by Friday 4 March for further information.
