BME

Hughes Hall BME (Black & Minority Ethnic) Society aims to create a network for HH students, both past and present, to connect with each other.
The society intends to keep HH students up to date with the latest events, both within college and in Cambridge.
BME is a term used to describe individuals of non-white descent. In 2013/2014, students from a BME background made up 23.2% of the undergraduate population, while making up 33% of the postgraduate population (http://www.equality.admin.cam.ac.uk/files/equality_and_diversity_information_report_2013-14.pdf). While the University (as well as Cambridge itself) is a great place to meet people from various backgrounds, the lack of diversity can be intimidating for some students.
