Hello, I’m Maxim, a third year PhD Student in Engineering. As a treasurer, my role is mainly administrative consisting of looking after the MCR finances and making sure we are sticking to our budget. This year I hope to work closely with many of our MCR officers to help organise numerous events throughout the college by providing optimal financial support. One of my favourite things in Hughes is talking to students from various backgrounds and disciplines and listening to their suggestions with regards to college life. With an optimised budget I am hoping to be able to bring those ideas to life and to increase the number of social events throughout the year in order to create an even more thriving community within Hughes Hall. Accommodation Officer: Patrick Simon Perillo
Hello! I am a PhD candidate in Land Economy, working on a project that examines state-based mechanisms that seek to hold transnational corporations accountable for human rights and environmental abuses in international law. As the Accommodation Officer, I represent students and bring their accommodation-related concerns to the relevant administrators and officers at College, including facilities and housekeeping in accommodation spaces. I assist the College in improving accommodation-related rules, meet with relevant officers to discuss student concerns both in policymaking and in operations, and sit in the College’s House Committee together with the Infrastructure and the Green and Ethical Affairs Officers. I also liaise with College in ensuring a seamless summer storage process. Additionally, I work with other MCR Committee Officers on student concerns that cut across various issues.
